Two things from this thread

1. If you don't like the week-end offering, don't participate .. simple

2. People thought the trading model in this game was/is fun? wtf?

i think 80% of the people will lose money this weekend getting gold items that won't sell.

things don't sell like they used to face it. No many people are willing to pay 100k + ectos for items, at lease i don't. i am saving all my cash, since it takes alot of effort to gain gold in game. I am gonna wait for gwen to come out.

Mod Edit: Removed commentary concerning a group's behavior. That kind of commentary is not welcome.

I personally have to say that I'll be chest running for non-profit purposes: I'd like to increase my treasure hunter and wisdom titles.

Of course if I can get a valuable skinned gold that could pay for (at least a few of my) lockpicks, that'd be cool =)

BTW, I'm still not convinced that NM chests drop way less golds than HM chests. I've gotten too many non max purples OR normal tomes from HM locked chests.

I'm KEEN for this weekend, Ima go find chests all over the place and see how many cool weapons I can get... I have like 8 chars and not all of them have fully kitted out heros... so yeah... :P

My Kosses, Jins, Dunks are gonna be real happy after this weekend...

Exactly, why care so much about making money? I've just dropped 40K (my entire savings) on a spread of keys and a handful of lockpicks. I'm going to spend the weekend engaging in, frankly, the most rewarding part of GW - getting cool stuff for my characters!

....40k on keys/lockpicks, in order to "getting cool stuff for my characters!"?

Boy, you BUY cool stuff if you want cool stuff. You don't go into a casino and wish you'd get cool stuff out of it.

From my experience chest running the same location in HM and NM for a time. NM chests drop ALOT more Purples. But then again it could've been bad luck... i also had twice as many lockpicks break in NM than i did in HM, even with the additional 25% survival rate...

I like this week's bonus weekend. Time to burn some cash for my lucky and wisdom title. After this I'll be poor as a rat

This is indeed a VERY good weekend event.

...now if only they'd do something with the trade system so we can DO something with some of the golds we get (-:

As a rule, I don't trade much. It's just not my idea of gameplay. I'd rather take my chances with chests - though admittedly only on these bonus weekends.

Besides, I've always done pretty well with these double rare chest weekends. I don't come out richer, because I don't trade, but I do usually end up with some above average and occasionally quite special weapons - I seem to remember my Sins Dragon Scythes came from one of these events.

Dropping 40K may seem like a lot, but in real terms it just means my next prestige armour is a couple more months away, which is no biggie, as I've already "anciented" my primary characters, anyway.

If the droprates of the special weekends would become the daily satandard... Than I STILL would find the droprates way too low. Sigh. There is only 1 way to stop grinding: allow people to find more goodies while they are adventuring.

Anyway, have fun all!

Well, to be fair, you don't always lose your lockpicks.

umm, who says you have to use lockpicks? 400gp keys ftw... unidentified normal items looks exactly like unidentified hardmode items unless its a low-end skin at max...

too bad I'll be busy with Fury beta test this weekend hehe... starts in an hour...

Been playing the deep...lockpick drops seem MUCH worse than normal, but after 3 chests, i've seen a total of 1 grape drop, the rest were gold.

Not a dig at you personally, but if you buy Lockpicks at 1.5k for this weekend event you are a complete tool.

Sadly i want my Golds. So selling em unid aint really an option.

Yes this is a very good weekend for those working on titles. I am going to go broke this weekend for sure!

I am only quoting your post as an example, the following statement is not directed at you personally.

When are people going to wake up and notice that Anet has done something with the trade system? They have crashed the economy and basically made the game have no use for a trade system. Problem solved, no need for an auction house or other trade improvements if almost nothing is valuable enough to trade and almost noone has enough money to buy the things that are still worth trading.
